Our Management Team

Led by Peter Cowley Managing Director, Peter is supported in the boardroom by Clive Rogers FCA as Financial Director and Peter’s wife Ann, as Company Secretary.

Peter entered the Fire Trade in 1969 and has a life time of experience working in the industry. In 2007 Peter fulfilled a life time ambition to launch a truly independent and customer service driven business – PJ Fire.

Clive was involved from the commencement of the business as Accountant and was later appointed Financial Director in 2011. Clive’s experience and financial disciplines have allowed the business to grow strongly through a very challenging economic period.

Ann performs the vital role of Company Secretary and is involved in all matters of strategic planning and financial review.

A strong management team is in place to ensure the company’s commitments and targets are achieved. The team comprises of:-

Trevor Baldry – UK Sales Manager whose recent promotion has been in recognition of his efforts and continuing success in building the customer base throughout the UK.  Trevor joined P J Fire in 2011 as Sales Executive, bringing with him a wealth of experience of selling to and supporting the UK fire trade. Trevor has made an incredible contribution to the ongoing growth of the business since his appointment.

Peter Johnston – Operations Manager. Peter joined the team in January 2015. Peter shares our passion for the industry and brings with him 22 years of experience in the refurbishment of portable fire extinguishers which enables PJ Fire to remain the market leader in refurbished CO2 product.

Jane Askham – Administration Manager. Last but certainly not least is Jane our Administration Manager. Jane joined the business in 2009 and her role has grown with the success of the business. Jane’s team are fully focused to ensure polite and accurate communication with all parties in the day to day activities of the business. Jane also works closely with the Directors and Management Team to ensure all strategic plans and financial matters are implemented promptly and efficiently.

Our commitment to our customers

PJ Fire value our customers as the foundation of our business. The customer support team has recently been strengthened to a count of 5. This action recognises the need to maintain the highest levels of customer service from order placement to accurate delivery and clean invoicing.

Whilst our relationships with customers and suppliers are based on principles of respect, integrity and mutual benefit, PJ Fire continues to build profitable and lasting business relationships. We will continue to review and innovate across our business as customer needs and standards change.

Our commitment to technology and logistics

PJ Fire operates from Chesterfield Derbyshire, close to the M1 and other major road networks. The factory is equipped with the latest technological machinery for the assembly of new and the refurbishment of CO2 extinguishers.

We have a fleet of 4 vehicles delivering customer requirements on a daily basis. Supporting distribution, we sometimes use third party carriers for bulk and remote palletised deliveries we also have a Trade Counter facility at Meltham Lane for urgent collections.
